We understand that your phone is one of your most precious possessions and holds invaluable information such as contacts and pictures. Please take your time and read through the following.

Liquid damage is one of the most destructive things that can happen to your phone. If all liquid is not removed from inside the phone, corrosion can build up and destroy connectors and short out components - often irreversible. Attempting to turn on the phone with liquid or corrosion inside makes it even worse and can cause irreversible damage. 

Though iPhones and smartphones can sometimes survive incidences with liquid, there is no guarantee on how long it will continue to function. If this phone holds important data, the best option is to bring it to us or a professional for evaluation.  

Best Practices

DO
  • Turn off the phone immediately and remove battery if possible
  • Remove the sim card, memory card, and anything else that might be plugged into the device.
  • Try to draw moisture out (note: try placing it in a bag with rice, sucking the water out with a vacuum, drying it with an absorbent towel)
  • Contact us or a professional for an evaluation.
DO NOT
  • DO NOT try to turn on your phone or push any buttons! This could force water further into the circuits.
  • DO NOT use a hairdryer on the phone – this could also push water into the phone and do further damage.
  • DO NOT move the phone more than you have to. It is best to keep the phone still to prevent water from spreading throughout the device.
  • DO NOT turn the phone on. If your data is important to you, don't risk turning on your phone until it is evaluated by a professional. If you do decide to take the chance, is best to wait 24 hours before attempting to turn your phone back on.

  1. Evaluation - Inspect the iPhone hardware / Evaluate options / Weigh the costs and risks
  2. Cleaning - Disassembly of iPhone down to single components / ultrasonic bath with electronic cleaning solution
  3. Displacement - Displace any remaining residue with 99% alcohol bath / Leave on drying rack for 24 hours
  4. Reassembly - Testing of motherboard with known working components / testing and replacing of damaged components / reassembly of phone

  • We will advise on the potential success of a liquid damage repair after we perform our visual inspection on what damage there might be. Despite our professional analysis, there is no guarantee of success.
  • We DO recommend getting a liquid damage repair MAINLY to save any data (pictures, contacts, etc.) that has not been backed up.
  • We DO NOT recommend getting a liquid damage repair to permanently "fix" your phone since it is not guaranteed.
  • We recommend redeeming insurance if you have it in any form - it guarantees a working phone.
