An extension cable can be a cheaper alternative to purchasing a completely new cable to get the extra length you need. This cable is rated as High Speed HDMI® Cable, capable of conducting all the HDMI® features (except HDMI® Ethernet Channel).
However, the High Speed rating is contingent on the total length and AWG rating of the cable as a whole, including the extension and the original cable. As long as both the extension and the original are at least 24 AWG and the total length is 15 feet or less, the High Speed rating can be maintained. With thinner cables and/or longer runs, the cable can be rated only as a Standard HDMI® Cable.
