At Simplified Computers, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you interact with our services, whether through our website, in-store visits, or other communication channels.

1. Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill your orders and provide the services you request
  • To process payments and invoices
  • To communicate with you about your orders, services, and inquiries

  • To show relevant advertising to our existing customers on third-party platforms

We do not store your full credit card number on our systems. Card processing is handled by Stripe in a PCI-DSS compliant environment.

3. Information Sharing

We share Personal Information with third-party service providers who process it on our behalf to operate our business. The categories of providers we work with include:

  • Payment processors: We use Stripe to process credit and debit card payments. Stripe receives your name, billing address, email, phone number, and card details necessary to authorize the transaction. We do not store your full card number on our systems.   • Analytics and advertising: We use Google Analytics to understand how customers interact with the Site, and Google Ads to deliver relevant advertising.   • Hosting and infrastructure: Our website, data, and supporting systems run on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers that process information under contractual privacy obligations.

We may also share Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

We share certain customer contact information (email address, phone number, name, and postal address) with Google Ads so we can show ads to our existing customers on Google services. Before the data leaves our systems it is converted to a one-way cryptographic hash, which Google uses solely to match against its own records and may not reuse for any other purpose. We only include customers who have opted in to, or have not opted out of, marketing communications. To be excluded from these audience uploads entirely, contact us or opt out of marketing communications using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

Google Analytics data collected on our Site may be shared with our linked Google Ads accounts so we can show more relevant ads on Google services, subject to your cookie-banner choices. Your cookie-banner choices control whether Google's analytics and advertising tags load and receive consent signals on our site.

4. Your Choices

You have the right to request and update your personal information. You can also choose not to provide certain information, although this may limit your ability to use some of our services. You can manage your communication preferences by contacting us or using the email opt-out mechanisms provided in our communications.

5. SMS Communications

When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive SMS updates, we may send you text messages related to your orders and services, such as order confirmations, shipping or pickup notifications, repair status updates, installations, and diagnostics. These messages are transactional in nature and are sent only with your consent. Message frequency will vary based on your order or service activity.

You will not receive marketing or promotional SMS messages unless you separately opt in to such communications. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile service plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We do not sell or rent your mobile number, and we do not share it in a form that reveals the number itself to third parties for marketing. If you have separately opted in to marketing communications, we may include a one-way cryptographic hash of your number in audience lists sent to Google Ads, as described in Section 3. Your plaintext number is used only for service-related communications and internal customer service records.

We handle your personal information, including your mobile number, in compliance with applicable privacy laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
