Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized part-time Inventory Clerk to manage and maintain our inventory systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, receiving shipments, and ensuring that all items are properly recorded and stored. The Inventory Clerk will also assist in conducting physical inventories and ensuring that stock is organized and easily accessible.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Track inventory levels and monitor stock movements in real-time.
- Ensure that inventory records are accurate and up-to-date in the system.
- Maintain proper documentation for inventory transactions, including receiving, shipping, and returns.
Receiving & Stocking:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify items against purchase orders, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
- Store and organize inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
- Label products and maintain proper storage areas, ensuring easy access and compliance with safety regulations.
Inventory Audits:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
- Reconcile discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory.
Order Fulfillment:
- Process inventory orders for sales, production, or internal use
- Package and ship items to customers or for returns as needed
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
System Management:
- Use inventory management software to track stock movements and assist Purchasing Coordinator with replenishment processes.
- Assist in training staff on inventory software and best practices.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that inventory is stored in optimal conditions to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss.
- Inspect inventory regularly to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Purchasing, inventory management or warehouse experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer and software skills
- Ability to lift and carry products up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Work Environment:
- The position may require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.
- The Inventory Clerk may be required to work in a warehouse, store, or office environment
