PeopleLink's 4K UHD Active Optical Cables For Next-gen AV Applications

When it comes to cabling, Active Optical Cables (AOC) uses optical fibre "between the connectors" but accepts the same electrical inputs as a conventional HDMI Extender. AOC uses electrical-to-optical conversion at the cable ends to boost the cable's speed and range performance without compromising its ability to work with standard electrical connectors.

In simple words, to replace the HDMI Extender technology in data centers and high-performance computing (HPC) applications, Active Optical Cable (AOC) assemblies were developed.

AOC vs. Basic HDMI Extender Cable Technology:

HDMI Extender technology is being pushed to its limits by increasing data rates and the size of data center clusters. Conventional extender has a reach of only up to 50 meters at a Double Data Rate (DDR) of 20Gigabits per second (Gbps).

For smaller clusters, this might be acceptable, but for bigger clusters, the physical link distance makes the cluster's physical architecture a serious difficulty. For example, it is usual for designers to incorporate amplifiers, signal regenerators, or similar devices within a cable assembly because high-speed extender cable assemblies have natural bandwidth-distance constraints.

Benefits of PeopleLink Active Optical Cables:

  • Ultra-Superior Bandwidth

Boosts UHD 4K60 (4:4:4) with complete signal integrity, HDMI 2.0 and with complete signal integrity, HDMI2.0 and with absolute signal integrity.

  • Elimination of Delays or Signal Loss

For 24/7 AV applications, active optical cables are perfect. They guarantee excellent performance and prompt signal transfer.

  • Simple Installation

Plug-and-play cable that is simple to navigate through confined places and around corners, it easilyconceals today's ultra-thin displays.

  • Consistent Performance

Take advantage of a steady signal transmission while other options fall short. Reduce electromagneticnoise and EMI/RFI interference, which reduce signal quality.
